Community Economic Development ProjectsOur “Concentric Approach to Community Development and Participation” Model Spectrum has developed a model entitled, “A Concentric Approach to Community Development and Participation.” Under Spectrum’s award-winning “Concentric Approach” model, the entire development area and surrounding communities are canvassed to determine what goods, services, and qualified labor workforce that exist within the development's catchment area. Beginning with the location of the development, our approach expands both concentrically and outwardly. Therefore, based on our findings and in consultation with clients, we determine how best to engage the community in the development process. Moreover, in order to ensure that the community benefits from the development, all contracts, purchase orders, jobs, and resources used on the project are sourced, tracked, and sorted according to our methodology. Through our “Concentric Approach” model, we are able to maximize community participation in construction contracting, procurement, and jobs to help build stronger, and more sustainable communities.
Community Benefits Agreements Our knowledge and expertise in community economic development is highly sought after in the preparation and development of Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs) and Project Labor Agreements (PLAs). In addition, Spectrum assists with the implementation and monitoring of CBAs and PLAs during the construction of major development projects.
